Responsibilities

• Perform meter turn-ons and turn-offs.
• Delivers disconnect notifications to customers.
• Read customer meters.
• Install meters and meter sets, may include industrial meters.
• Light pilots, test and inspect appliances and gas equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Perform farm tap maintenance.
• Remove meters.
• Respond to high bill requests by performing dial tests, appliance and filter checks.
• Meet with customers regarding line relocates.
• Change out meters related to the sample testing program.
• Repair water heaters, appliances, etc. (Install if licensed).
• Monitor for meter tampering; ensure meters are securely installed.
• Monitor atmospheric corrosion and paint as needed.
• Locate gas lines.
• Inspect/maintain farm tap stations.
• First Responder to emergency/leak calls; evaluate and grade leaks.
• Assist in training service apprentices.
• Assist O&M group with line repairs.
• May performs leak surveys.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Clear pipelines.
• Repair/install temporary clamps on steel risers.
• Repair damaged ½” and ¾” plastic services.
• Bar test to evaluate and grade underground gas leaks.
• Prepare unregulated estimates and maintain computer record keeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned
