Job summary

Duke Energy in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Gas Distribution Operator to perform field duties and support safe, reliable natural gas distribution. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic mechanical aptitude, and experience with construction tools or equipment; CDL readiness or holding a CDL within 18 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Basic mechanical concepts and mechanical aptitude are necessary.
• Experience using construction tools is required.
• Experience operating construction equipment is required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have ability to obtain CDL within 12–18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform O&M crew duties related to maintenance and operation of natural gas facilities.
• Assist with safety measures and set up traffic control for jobs.
• Identify, obtain and deliver tools, materials and equipment for assignments.
• Utilize maps and GPS to locate work sites and plan tasks.
• Drive a company vehicle and transport heavy equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate work records and documentation of tasks performed.
