Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking an entry-level Service Technician I to perform installation, maintenance and service of natural gas facilities in the Charlotte area. You will work outdoors, read meters, install meters, and handle customer interactions with professionalism.

As you advance, expectations include completing training, obtaining operator qualifications, and progressing toward Service Technician II.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience using construction tools and basic mechanical concepts.
• Proficient with Windows PCs and basic software.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL medical card within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers in a professional manner to explain work performed.
• Identify, obtain and deliver materials for assignments.
• Read meters and install/repair meters and related equipment.
• Perform home warranty repairs and complete estimates.
• Respond to emergency orders and act as first responder as needed.
