Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Service Technician I–III to support the safe, efficient installation and maintenance of natural gas facilities. The role involves fieldwork on transmission and distribution systems, customer interactions, and use of technology to document work performed.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, experience with construction tools, basic mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with Windows PCs.

Qualifications

• Experience using construction tools.
• Basic mechanical concepts and aptitude.
• Proficiency with Windows PCs and software.
• Valid driver's license; CDL medical card within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to safe installation and maintenance of natural gas facilities on both transmission and distribution systems.
• Interact professionally with customers and document work performed.
• Read meters, install and program devices, and manage on-site records.
• Identify materials, use maps and GPS, and operate company vehicles.
• Respond to emergencies as a first responder and investigate gas-related issues.
