Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking candidates for a paid internship in its Gas Utility Engineering department. The program provides practical work experience, hands-on training, and opportunities to network with other interns across the Gas Utility.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering with Gas Project Management.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person per our hybrid work policy.
• Preferred: team-building experience and system design experience.

Responsibilities

• Project activities and responsibilities could include assisting with project management, pipeline engineering, data cleanup, federal code verification, documentation preparation, and other activities as required.
• Work with the Engineering staff to support the Transmission Control Center.
• Work as an entry level engineering analyst doing tasks that support the tools, programs, and database used to perform various operational tasks such as outage coordination, power flow studies, power system monitoring, and assist with operator training.
