Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a paid internship in its Gas Utility Engineering department. The program provides hands-on experience, including project management, pipeline engineering, data cleanup, and documentation tasks.

Interns collaborate with engineering staff, support the Transmission Control Center, and develop skills in outage coordination and power system monitoring. The internship runs with a May 24, 2027 start date and may extend beyond the initial term based on performance and business

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering, Gas Project Management.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) at a designated in-person location.

Responsibilities

• Support project management and pipeline engineering activities.
• Assist with data cleanup, federal code verification, and documentation preparation.
• Assist with operator training and support Transmission Control Center tools and databases.
