Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a skilled professional to lead complex underground gas installation and repair work, participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and use GIS for planning. You will guide field staff and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will perform tapping/stopping, welding on plastic pipe, document conditions for the DIMP program, and engage with customers about gas usage while capturing work orders accurately. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6 years of natural gas industry experience.
• Ability to lead complex below-ground service installations.
• On-call rotation availability.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex below-ground service, main, and regulator station installations and repairs, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as a first responder.
• Utilize GIS to plan emergency repairs and maintenance activities of gas main and services.
• Lead, direct, and develop employees in below-ground skills with consistent feedback to supervision.
• Perform basic-level tapping and stopping of gas during pipeline maintenance and emergency work.
• Perform mechanical, electro-fusion, and external-heat-applied plastic welding on plastic pipe during repairs and maintenance.
• Document, analyze, and report abnormal operating conditions and take corrective action for regulatory compliance.
• Provide data for the Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) and other work documentation as required.
• Perform service activation, deactivation, leak investigations and repairs, and pipeline maintenance.
• Provide customer consultation regarding work performed and instructions on gas usage.
• Capture work order documentation accurately using company-provided technology.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
