Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Distribution Design Supervisor to lead and direct design activities for gas and/or electric distribution systems. You will manage dispersed designer teams, balance customer needs with regulatory and safety standards, and mentor staff.

The role emphasizes leadership, cost control, and delivering high-quality designs while ensuring compliance and effective use of design tools. The team supports storm response and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years electric and/or gas distribution design experience or a Bachelor's with 3+ years.
• Experience leading diverse technical teams and mentoring staff.
• Strong understanding of design standards and work management processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for distribution design activities and plan budgets.
• Develop and retain a multi-functional workforce.
• Ensure safety, timeliness, cost containment, and reliability.
• Mentor new hires and existing designers using skill-based training.
