Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is hiring a Plant Operator I (Scndry) in Lansing, MI. You will safely operate equipment for handling and producing packaged gas cylinders, including high pressure and cryogenic vessels.

This role requires basic forklift operation, attention to safety procedures, and the ability to follow stringent labeling and regulatory standards while supporting inventory and quality checks. A HS diploma is preferred and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift (training may be provided).
• Familiarity with gas, welding or safety supply industry is valued.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload gas cylinders onto route trucks and trailers using proper carts.
• Operate a forklift to move cylinders on pallets.
• Inspect cylinders prior to filling and ensure correct labeling and safety checks.
• Prepare high pressure/cryogenic cylinders for filling and manage safety procedures.
• Maintain paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
