Job summary

NorthStar Energy Solutions, a Quanta Services company, seeks a Skilled Laborer to support gas construction and maintenance operations in Grand Prairie, TX. You will assist with mains, service lines, valves, and related equipment, adhering to safety and DOT standards.

Role requires outdoor work, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to overtime or travel locally as needed. CDL is a plus and OSHA/OQ certifications are preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Experience in gas or utility construction preferred.
• Ability to follow safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Willingness to obtain or maintain OSHA/OQ certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of natural gas mains and service lines.
• Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site restoration per standards.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely.
• Assist with pipe fusion, joining, and tapping under supervision.
• Locate and protect existing utilities during excavation.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and gear to job sites.
• Set up traffic control and ensure work-zone safety.
• Support pressure testing and leak surveys on piping systems.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work sites.
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues promptly.
