Job summary

BHE GT&S is hiring a Compressor Station Operator for the Shed Station in Georgetown, NY. The role requires experience with industrial equipment, compressors, pumps, and engine systems, plus strong safety discipline.

Responsibilities include operating reciprocating/turbine engines, monitoring gauges, maintaining records, and supporting maintenance tasks while working 12-hour rotating shifts. Minimal overtime and adherence to safety rules are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have six months of mechanical experience across compressors, pumps, engines or related systems.
• Documented computer skills and ability to read gauges and logs.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Start, stop and operate reciprocating/turbine engines and compressors.
• Maintain station equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Take readings (pressures, temperatures, volumes, run hours) and record them.
• Order materials and maintain records, ensure safe operations.
• Operate station controls and adjust gas pressures as required.
• Ensure housekeeping and safe work environment; follow safety procedures.
