Job summary

BHE GT&S seeks a Compressor Station Operator Sr. for Oakford Station in Delmont, PA. You will operate engines and related equipment to pressurize and move natural gas, monitor conditions, and keep accurate records to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires 12-hour rotating shifts, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver’s license. Prior compressor station experience and compliance with safety procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• Six months documented mechanical experience in industrial equipment, compressors, pumps, electrical motors, controls circuitry, engines and/or related natural gas industry experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb ladders; work in restricted spaces; follow safety rules and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate internal combustion and turbine engines to pump and compress natural gas.
• Report pressures and operating conditions to Gas Dispatcher and maintain records.
• Change pressures and route gas as directed.
• Perform minor repairs and assist in major overhauls; maintain tools and equipment.
• Operate boilers and auxiliary equipment; ensure safety valve checks and chart changes.
• Prepare records and reports; may supervise other operators.
