Job summary

Tcenergy is seeking a multiskilled Mechanical Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and operate a natural gas compressor station and related equipment in the Heartland-Rock River Valley area.

The role requires self-direction, strong problem solving and communication skills, and willingness to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. On-site responsibilities include coordinating with contractors, safety compliance, and on-call duty.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Demonstrated work experience in a related industry.
• Thorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practices.
• Knowledge and application of lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures.
• Experience in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related software.
• Working knowledge of gas engines, compressors, automatic control equipment, and related machinery.
• Ability to understand piping operating drawings.
• Relevant natural gas or energy industry experience.
• Ability to work self-guided with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, overhaul and repair of compressor station equipment by dismantling, cleaning, inspecting wear parts and reassembling.
• Inspect for gas leaks and assist in maintaining safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems to locate defective parts.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling with gas control.
• Manage contractors and vendors on-site.
• Enter data and complete work orders in SAP; prepare required forms.
• Perform LOTO on equipment and participate in safety analyses and meetings.
• Assist in planning work and safety discussions as needed.
