Airgas in La Porte, TX is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the night shift (8 PM–6 AM) to analyze petroleum and hydrocarbon mixtures using gas chromatography with Agilent instruments and ChemStation/EZChrom. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and thorough documentation per SOPs.

Required is a Bachelor’s in Chemistry or related science (or 3–5 years in a laboratory). Also needed: 1–3 years GC experience, strong communication, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related Science, or equivalent lab experience.
• 1–3 years of experience using gas chromatography.
• Experience in an industrial laboratory environment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and lab results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Analyze petroleum and hydrocarbon mixtures using gas chromatography.
• Operate Agilent GC instruments and integration software (ChemStation, EZChrom).
• Maintain safety standards and document results per SOPs.
• Review certificates of analysis and associated documentation.
