Job summary

Terrain Café, part of the URBN family, is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests and guide them from arrival to departure. You will manage reservations, seating flow, and guest preferences while collaborating with the service teams to maintain a warm, garden‑to‑table dining atmosphere.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of hosting or customer service experience, strong communication, and comfort with OpenTable. The role supports a team‑first culture and shop‑floor hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hosting or customer service preferred.
• Confident communicator and calm under pressure.
• Familiarity with OpenTable or similar systems.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Flexible availability preferred—mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism.
• Assist with coats, strollers, accessibility, and special seating needs.
• Accommodate guest requests (e.g., highchairs, dietary restrictions).
• Follow brand Steps of Service from arrival to farewell.
• Maintain a calm, polished demeanor—even during peak periods.
• Use online booking tools to manage reservations and waitlists.
• Strategically assign tables to optimize flow and pacing.
• Quote wait times and provide timely updates to guests.
• Confirm reservations and private dining notes.
• Relay guest preferences to servers and BOH.
• Manage calls and follow up with management as needed.
• Coordinate with managers to adjust seating and service needs.
