Job summary

Red Cliffs Lodge Moab is seeking a dedicated Gardener to maintain our hotel's gardens and landscapes. You will plant, water, fertilize, prune, and monitor plant health, working with a team to keep outdoor spaces welcoming for guests.

The position requires knowledge of plant care, the ability to use gardening tools, and comfort working outdoors in varied weather. Prior hospitality or customer-service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to communicate plant care information to others.
• Attention to detail
• Problem-solving and decision-making to deal with gardening problems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations regarding landscaping and gardening
• Ability to use various gardening tools.
• Comfort working outdoors in all types of weather and natural elements
• Math skills to calculate fertilizer and pesticide application rates and chemical dilutions.

Responsibilities

• Planting all types of plants, including flowers, shrubs, and trees
• Maintaining plants by watering, fertilizing, and trimming them
• Using and maintaining gardening tools and light gardening machinery
• Identifying and treating diseases, pest infestations and other issues with garden plants
• Cleaning up garden areas
• Following safety guidelines for applying chemicals and using equipment
• Attend all scheduled training, departmental and hotel meetings
• Confer and cooperate with other departments to ensure coordination of guest needs
• Maintain an extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities.
