Job summary

Smith Gardens Inc. is seeking a Merchandising Supervisor to lead live goods merchandising for Home Depot and Walmart Garden Centers in the territory. You will supervise a team of 15+ merchandisers, drive merchandising plans, and liaise with store teams and vendors to optimize shopper experience and sell-through.

The role requires 3-5 years of management and merchandising experience, preferably in nursery plants. Local travel and weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of management / leadership experience.
• 3-5 years of merchandising experience.
• Experience with nursery and/or bedding plants preferred.
• Smartphone to clock in/out (Android 8.0+ or iOS 12+).
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, train and build a professional merchandising staff of 15+ (home depot and walmart centers).
• Collaborate with merchandisers, store associates, store managers and district managers.
• Interact with customers and other vendors professionally.
• Execute approved merchandising plans, store layouts and Plant-O-Grams.
• Use reports to manage budgets, labor, and sell-through.
• Communicate inventory and plant quality issues to HD/WM Account Managers.
• Manage, correct, and approve timecards.
• Restock displays and put away new orders.
• Ensure products are signed correctly and ads are executed.
• Execute sales plans and KPIs for customers and SGI.
• Report store issues to Regional Merchandising Manager regularly.
• Ensure Watering of Smith Gardens plants as needed.
• Cull unsellable merchandise per procedures.
• Retail work includes weekends and holidays.
