Job summary

Bell-Nursery in Maryland seeks an Area Manager to oversee four or more Home Depot Garden Centers, driving merchandising to plan, executing promotions, and collaborating with District leaders to monitor inventory and staff performance.

The role requires recruiting, coaching, and coaching staff, ensuring safety and policy compliance, and delivering outstanding customer service across all centers. This is a full-time, on-site leadership position.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to travel to multiple Garden Center sites.
• Full-time schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist District Manager and HR with recruiting and hiring exceptional talent.
• Train and coach staff in daily tasks and best practices.
• Schedule employees within operating budgets.
• Ensure training is completed by staff and policy compliance.
• Manage Garden Center maintenance, safety, and incident reporting.
• Interpret and implement Bell Plan-O-Gram program.
• Communicate with Bell Nursery, clients, and vendor partners.
• Support leadership with staffing and operational objectives.
• Proactively identify and solve efficiency and service issues.
