Job summary

Myers Park Country Club, Inc in Charlotte seeks a dedicated prep cook to support banquets and events by preparing salads and other cold items. Morning and evening shifts offered with open flexibility to rotate hours. You will work with an award-winning team to deliver high-quality cold foods and salads.

Responsibilities include dressing preparation, sandwich assembly, station setup and clean-up, and ensuring product freshness while maintaining a clean pantry and walk-in area.

Qualifications

• Culinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all salad items before each shift; washes and cuts lettuce, vegetables, fruits, meats, etc.; maintains product levels during service hours.
• Prepares salads and other cold items for special functions.
• Prepares salad dressings.
• Slices and pre-portions cold cooked meat, fish, and poultry; garnishes them in an appetizing and tasteful manner.
• Prepares appetizers and hors d'oeuvres in a tasteful manner.
• Makes sandwiches according to club recipes.
• Cleans equipment and maintains pantry/ walk-in cleanliness.
• Sets up, maintains, and breaks down salad prep station.
• Covers and stores reusable leftovers properly.
• Ensures items are used before spoilage.
• Prepares and serves items per portion/presentation standards.
• Notifies Sous Chef of shortages.

Myers Park Country Club is excited to reopen for banquets and events, as well as additional a la carte venues, and we are looking to add enthusiastic members to our team. If you are interested in executing a successful event by preparing food items for breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and special parties, come join the fun. You'll get the opportunity to prepare salads and other cold food items all while interacting with an award-winning team. We are looking for someone with open flexibility for both morning and evening shifts.

Requirements

• Prepares all salad items before each shift; washes and cuts lettuce, vegetables, fruits, meats, etc., and maintains product levels during service hours.
• Prepares salads and other cold items for special functions.
• Prepares salad dressings.
• Slices and pre-portions cold cooked meat, fish, and poultry; garnishes them in an appetizing and tasteful manner.
• Prepares appetizers, hors d'oeuvres in a tasteful manner.
• Makes sandwiches according to club's standard recipes.
• Cleans equipment and ensures that pantry area refrigerator and walk-in are clean and neat.
• Sets-up, maintains and breaks-down salad prep station.
• Covers, dates and neatly stores re-usable leftover products.
• Ensures that food products are used before they spoil.
• Prepares and serves items in accordance with established portion and presentation standards.
• Notifies Garde Manger Sous Chef in advance of product shortages.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
• Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
• Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.

Education and/or Experience

• Culinary experience is preferred.
