A well-established organization is seeking a hands-on Garage Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations for a diverse fleet of commercial trucks and heavy equipment.
This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership position for someone who can direct technicians, prioritize repairs, maintain strong DOT standards, and keep the shop operating safely and efficiently.
What You Will Do
Lead approximately eight mechanics across first and second shifts.
Prioritize preventive maintenance, DOT-related repairs, inspections, breakdowns, and daily assignments.
Provide technical guidance and assist with diagnostics or difficult repairs when needed.
Maintain accurate work orders, service records, inspection documentation, and DOT compliance.
Monitor repair quality, technician productivity, fleet availability, and shop safety.
Coordinate parts, inventory, vendors, and outside repair services.
Train, coach, and support technicians while maintaining accountability for performance and workmanship.
Communicate equipment status and maintenance priorities to operations leadership.
What We Are Looking For
Supervisory experience in a truck, fleet, diesel, or heavy-equipment maintenance environment.
Strong knowledge of DOT inspections, documentation, compliance, and safety-related repairs.
Hands-on experience with diesel trucks, trailers, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
Ability to organize shop workflow and make sound decisions when priorities change.
Experience training, developing, and directing maintenance technicians.
Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
First shift begins at approximately 6:00 a.m., with some flexibility.
This is a fully onsite position.
Must be available to support second-shift operations by phone and occasionally onsite when needed.
