Description

The Spirit of the Position:

The Garage Porter ensures that assigned garages are maintained and cleaned daily. You will do vehicle damage inspections in the morning and clean garages for the remainder of your shift.

Compensation: $19/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am - 4 pm (hours may vary)

Principal Job Duties:

• Ensure garages are maintained and cleaned daily.
• Responsible for general maintenance of the garage and surface lots - sweeping, emptying trash, picking up trash, wiping down surfaces and equipment
• Assist maintenance employees with snow removal and garage upkeep during winter months
• Completing all checklist duties promptly
• Greet customers using their name, be responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution, display a caring attitude, and develop a rapport with the customer base.
• Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to always help.
• Assist customersover the intercom system, in lobbies, lanes, and the parking office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Experience:

• Experience with general facility maintenance is required.
• Valid Driver's License with 2+ years of experience
• Experience in customer relations.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

Skills:

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Willingness to be flexible and work multiple facility locations.
• Ability to handle challenging and, at times, emotionally charged situations.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
