Job summary

LAZ Parking is seeking a dependable Garage Maintenance team member in Columbus, OH to keep garages and surface lots clean and safe. You will interact with customers, handle basic maintenance, and assist with cashiering as needed.

Ideal candidates bring strong customer service skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. This role requires physical activity and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, in an environment with varying conditions.

• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain garages and surface lots daily and ensure spaces are clean and safe.
• Assist with maintenance tasks: sweeping, wiping surfaces, trash removal, light bulb changes, and painting.
• Provide vehicle assistance to customers and respond to inquiries via intercom, lobby, or office areas.
• Assist with cashiering functions as needed and promote premier customer service.

The Spirit Of The Position

The Garage Maintenance team is responsible for ensuring garages and surface lots are maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. Interface with customers, handle disputes, provide effective communication between departments, co-workers, customers and clients.

What does a day in the life of the LAZ Garage Maintenance crew look like?

• Ensure garages and surface lots are maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
• Responsible for general maintenance of the garage and surface lots – sweeping, wiping down surfaces and equipment, emptying trash, picking up trash, changing light bulbs, painting etc.
• Assist with snow removal and management of winter upkeep (managing sidewalks and garages) if applicable.
• May need to operate garage/floor sweeper and scrubber to ensure floors are clean and safe.
• Responsible for ensuring all daily duties on maintenance checklist are completed efficiently and timely.
• Greet customers using name, be responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution, and display a caring attitude, develop a rapport with the customer base.
• Provide vehicle assistance to customers in garages and surface lots.
• Assist customers as needed over intercom system, in lobbies, lanes, and in the parking office.
• Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
• Assist with cashiering functions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.

• Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.

Compensation:

This position is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.
