Job summary

GameStop is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Dayton to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations and guest service. This role focuses on driving sales, coaching staff, and maintaining an organized, customer‑friendly environment in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders, promote loyalty programs, and ensure compliance with policies while delivering exceptional guest experiences and meeting performance targets.

Qualifications

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Minimum age 18 years old.
• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; preferred higher education.
• Retail management experience preferred (6+ months).
• Video game knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service and greet guests promptly while assisting with gaming needs.
• Support store operations and sales initiatives under Store Manager supervision.
• Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system.
• Respond to guest questions in person or by phone and route issues as needed.
• Promote store guest benefits and loyalty programs.
• Assist in coaching and training store associates; monitor performance.
• Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance for staff.
• Schedule associates and manage payroll actions; monitor attendance.
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising according to guidelines.
• Oversee inventory control and loss prevention practices.
