Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Solutions Architect - Games in California for a remote role with residency in California. You will own the end-to-end technical strategy, lead architecture discussions, and drive platform adoption across data engineering, ML/AI, and real-time analytics.

You will work with customer architects and Directors, show strong coding in Python/SQL, and influence product direction. Collaborative cross-functional delivery is key in this role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
• Strong coding proficiency in Python and SQL – live coding, debugging, and solution-building skills.
• Deep expertise in distributed data systems architecture: scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, cloud-native data platforms.
• Proficient on the Databricks Platform (or ability to become proficient quickly) with a developing specialization in one domain (e.g., real-time/streaming, ML/AI).
• Proven ability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders – whiteboarding, design reviews, trade-off analysis.
• Experience with production deployments on public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including infra, security, governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical strategy for accounts, from discovery to production deployment and consumption growth.
• Lead complex architecture discussions – design scalable, production-grade solutions across data engineering, ML/AI, and real-time analytics.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customer architects, engineering leads, and Directors.
• Drive technical wins through custom-built solutions and competitive differentiation.
• Develop an emerging technical specialization (archetype) as a go-to resource for the team.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources (DSAs, SSAs, Partners) to deliver complete solutions.
