Job summary

Valmont Industries in Salina, Kansas, is seeking a Production Manager with a strong background in OEM manufacturing or industrial coatings to lead a galvanizing operation. This role oversees safety, quality, scheduling, lean initiatives, and compliance across a two- or three-shift operation.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ relevant experience (or 7+ with an associate’s, or 9+ total), plus proven supervisory and lean experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or 7+ years with an Associates, or 9+ years total experience.
• Strong problem solving and practical issue resolution.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Lean manufacturing experience including standard work, continuous improvement, and kaizen.
• Ability to travel 5–10% and to wear PPE in a production facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant resources to ensure safety, quality, and production goals.
• Oversee the production operations of a galvanizing facility.
• Receive training in troubleshooting, accounting, financial forecasting, HR, and galvanizing sales and services.
• Assist in identifying best practices, performing lean audits and kaizen events.
• Facilitate positive customer relations through quality, on-time delivery.
• Utilize production reports to gauge performance and inform decisions.
• Review and control expenses for raw materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain staffing through staffing, training, and development of personnel.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions.
• Administer company policies consistently.
