Job summary

Steel Dynamics in Sinton, TX seeks a maintenance technician for preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment to support uptime and reliability. You will work with Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Coordinators, Mill techs, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive production goals and safety.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, emergency response, and teamwork. The role emphasizes safety and reliability, with opportunities to transition into shift

Qualifications

• Must have a good understanding of TCOS “Take Control of Safety.”
• 4 years minimum mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, grease systems, gearing, gear/shaft alignment, rigging, bearings, couplings, and precision measuring instruments.
• Fabrication skills including torching, welding, and blueprint reading.

Overview

Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in the facility. Works closely with the department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Coordinators, Mill techs, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive the department production goals. Focus will be on safety and assisting operations as needed to ensure uptime and reliability.

Preferred:

• Sheet Cold Mill experience
• Proficient in comprehending hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
• Computer skills to include Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
