Steel Dynamics, Inc. is hiring a Millwright for the Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing complex systems to ensure uptime and safety.

You will work with engineers, foremen, and operators to meet production goals and maintain equipment functionality. The position offers a robust benefits package including health/dental/vision, 401(k) and Roth plans, bonuses and vacation time.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance experience on industrial equipment.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, install and maintain systems.
• Fabrication skills including torching and welding.
• Strong communication and teamwork, safety focus.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and cranes is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia has an opening for a Millwright. We offer competitive pay, insurance (health/dental/vision - $200/month for family coverage), retirement (401(k) and Roth, weekly production bonus, profit sharing (twice a year - cash bonus), vacation, personal days, etc.

After a brief probationary period of 1,050 hours the rate of pay is $29.70/hr. Overtime is also available and encouraged!!

• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Good communication skills with an ability to work within a team environment.
• Operating mobile equipment, troubleshooting and repairing systems (Combustion systems, fluid power systems, mechanical power transmission systems, water systems, pneumatic systems, etc.).
• This position requires a strong ability to lead and perform repairs to the departmental equipment .
• Mechanical maintenance in various areas of the mill.
• Working with the department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Foreman/Supervisors, other Millwrights, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive the department production goals.
• Focus will be on safety and assisting operations as needed to ensure uptime and reliability.
• All other duties as required.
• An excellent safety and attendance record.
• Previous mechanical maintenance experience (diagnosing, repairing, installing and maintaining industrial equipment.
• Fabrication skills that include torching, welding, and blueprint reading.

Preferred

• A basic understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, and electromechanical equipment that will aid in troubleshooting with the caster electrical maintenance team.
• Technical training and certifications.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, grease systems, gearing, gear alignment, rigging, overhead cranes, pendant cranes, and precision instruments.
