Job summary

Steel Dynamics seeks an experienced electrician/electronics technician to maintain the Melt Shop electrical systems on a 4 on 4 off, 12-hour rotating swing shift. You will lead safety lockout procedures and perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and new installations.

Collaborate with millwrights and operators on daily tasks; apply knowledge of power distribution, motors, drives, PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell), and high/low voltage equipment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working as an electrician or electronics technician in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of power distribution, AC/DC motors, motor control and motor drives
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC’s, and Rockwell Software
• Experience with low, medium, and high voltage equipment
• Understanding of thermodynamics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Lock out/tag out safety procedures and ensure safe maintenance work.
• Perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and install new electrical equipment.
