Job summary

Bookmans Exchange in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a part-time Gallery Associate to lead a customer-friendly environment and provide outstanding service while helping customers buy, price, and trade merchandise.

You will stock and merchandise all department areas, apply knowledge of housewares, toys, and jewelry, use reference materials when needed, and collaborate with Store Management to maintain friendly, organized operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Professional telephone skills.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule to include early mornings, evenings, mid-shifts, and weekends.
• Diverse housewares/toys/jewelry product knowledge.
• Understanding of the pricing, trading, and discount systems at Bookmans.
• Motivated to learn how to buy/process/sell Gallery Merchandise.
• General knowledge of products sold at Bookmans.
• Knowledge of store sections and layout.
• Ability to work independently with guidance and direction from the Gallery Department Supervisor/Lead and Store Management.
• Ability to use reference materials
• Must be able to conduct oneself in a civil, professional, and respectful manner at work.

Responsibilities

• Leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere with exceptional customer assistance.
• Apply knowledge of housewares, toys, and jewelry to buying, processing, and selling; incorporate positive customer-focused strategies.
• Staff prices, sorts, stocks, and merchandise all areas of the department, and works at the Incoming Merchandise/Trade counter buying and pricing merchandise.
