Responsibilities

• Assist Athletics staff with prevention, recognition, assessment and immediate care of athletic injuries.
• Assist with athletic rehabilitations and preparation screenings.
• Educate athletes, coaches and athletic training students on injury prevention and care.
• Provide emergency coverage as assigned by the coordinator of athletic training services.
• Conduct injury assessment and referrals as needed.
• Maintain records, input medical data into the sports-related database, and file all medical paperwork.
• Assist with general maintenance of the athletic training room.

Type of Position:

Graduate Assistant with the Athletic Training Department working 10 hours per week/150 hours per semester.

Pay Rate:

$8.34 per hour

Job Summary:

Assist Dept. of Athletics Athletic training Staff with prevention, recognition, assessment and immediate care of athletic injuries

Assist with Athletic Rehabilitations

Assist with Preparation Screenings

Educate athletes, coaches and athletic training students on injury

Attend and provide emergency care coverage as assigned by the coordinator of athletic training services

Conduct injury assessment and injury referral as needed

Maintain adequate and proper record keeping including:

Inputting medical records into the Sports-Related Data Base

Filling all medical paperwork

Assist with general maintenance of the athletic training room

Required Qualifications:

Admission to East Stroudsburg University. Graduate school application may occur at the same time as applying for the position.

A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
