The General Merchandise Clerk (GMC) at Stater Bros. Markets is responsible for delivering G.O.A.T. service to customers and supporting multiple store operations.

This role includes front-end tasks like bagging, bagging groceries, and assisting with carts, as well as stocking shelves and aiding with e-commerce orders and floral/cut fruit prep. The GMC may rotate through departments such as Grocery, Ecommerce, Produce, Floral, and other duties as assigned, contributing to a smooth checkout and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.
• A valid Food Handler / Health Card.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Friendly, helpful attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction and service at all times.
• Ability to work well within the team and follow direction with a good attitude.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and teammates.
• Basic math and reading skills for handling pricing, labels, equipment, and inventory.
• Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, for up to four to eight hours per day and lift packages and other items (up to 50 pounds).
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must maintain a sense of integrity and adhere to all store policies and procedures, including safety standards and the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsabilités

• Provide friendly, helpful service while maintaining a professional demeanor and enhancing the customer’s shopping experience (G.O.A.T).
• Assist with customer questions, locating products, product recommendations, and communicating out-of-stock issues or customer concerns to store management.
• Bag groceries carefully and efficiently, separating items properly; along with offering and helping customers with loading groceries to their vehicles.
• Ensure shopping carts are regularly gathered from the parking lot and organized at store entrances for customer use.
