Job summary

Dollar General in Statesboro, GA is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, merchandising, and cash controls while developing into the Store Manager role. This temp progression prepares you for advancement within the company.

You will participate in opening/closing, follow procedures, manage paperwork, and help ensure store financial integrity and customer service excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions, including those necessary to generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise and pricing.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure the safe deposit of all company funds in the designated bank.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cashier accountability and cash control.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
