Job summary

Dollar General in Georgia is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in daily store operations, staffing, inventory, and customer service, with a focus on developing internal candidates for future Store Manager roles.

You will help recruit, merchandise, manage cycle counts, open/close procedures, and ensure cash controls and safety protocols are followed for a smooth customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Strong reading, basic math and cash handling knowledge.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of deposits, cash control policies and safety procedures.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing and training staff is a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and proper pricing of merchandise.
• Assist with inventory management, store cycles and shrink control.
• Follow ordering practices to meet stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and cashier accountability.
• Support opening/closing duties and cash handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and operate in Store Manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
