Job summary

Type One Energy Group, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Instrumentation & Control to design and implement control systems for its advanced stellarator technologies.

You will develop distributed control software, integrate hardware, and support lifecycle needs across engineering teams in a high-safety fusion environment. The role requires a BS or MS in Electrical or Control Systems and 5+ years in instrumentation/control.

Qualifications

• Requires BS/MS in Electrical/Control Systems or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years in instrumentation/control in complex settings.
• Experience with real-time distributed control systems and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Develop distributed control software for stellarator systems.
• Design instrumentation and control architectures for complex equipment.
• Create design specs, interface definitions, and test plans.
• Support requirements lifecycle from development to verification
• Maintain I&C drivers for diverse instrumentation and hardware
• Contribute to CI/CD, testing automation, and software quality
• Assist system integration, testing and commissioning
• Troubleshoot control systems during development and operation
• Collaborate with mechanical, physics, software, and systems teams
• Ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance
