Job summary

Type One Energy Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Instrumentation & Control (I&C) to design, develop, and implement control systems for advanced stellarator technologies. The role emphasizes distributed control software, hardware integration, and lifecycle support of instrumentation and control solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, safe, and high-performance operation of fusion system components.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or related field.
5+ years of instrumentation and control systems experience in complex technical environments.
Experience with distributed, real-time control systems.

Responsibilities

Develop distributed control software for stellarator systems and subsystems.
Design and implement instrumentation and control architectures for complex equipment.
Create technical documentation including design specs, interface definitions, and test plans.
Support requirements lifecycle from development to verification and validation.
Develop and maintain I&C drivers for wide range of instrumentation and equipment.
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline implementation and software quality practices.
Support system integration, testing, and commissioning of hardware and software components.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues during development and operations.
Collaborate with mechanical, physics, software, and systems engineering teams.
Ensure designs meet safety and regulatory expectations for nuclear/fusion environments.
