Job summary

Helion is hiring a Build Engineer to drive the execution of first-of-a-kind fusion generator assemblies at our Everett, WA site. You will own manufacturing, assembly, and deployment of subsystems for integrated development testbeds and fusion generators, collaborating closely with design and production to ensure manufacturability throughout the design process.

This onsite role requires a hands-on engineer with cross-disciplinary skills in mechanical, electrical, and fluids, plus CAD proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 2+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, assembly, or integration of multidisciplinary hardware.
• Hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, and fluids disciplines.
• Experience using CAD software to create models and drawings (NX, SolidWorks).
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a build.
• Effective technical communication across teams and levels.

Responsibilities

• Own the build and assembly definition and execution for generator subsystems.
• Author work instructions for technician teams for nominal builds and deviations.
• Design and manufacture tooling for efficient assembly and installation.
• Collaborate with production, integration, and engineering to develop prototypes and demos.
• Drive configuration management and delivered hardware quality, pace of execution.
• Maintain lifecycle knowledge of parts to improve low-volume build processes (<1000 pieces).
