Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess damages and select repair method for case goods, leather, fabric, upholstery.
• Perform woodworking, upholstery and leather repair, faux finishing, color matching, framing, coatings.
• Use fillers, burn-ins, color matching, structural repairs, and replace parts.
• Travel to customer homes for post-purchase repair work.
• Install, program and troubleshoot window treatment installations and repairs.
• Remove existing window coverings prior to new installations.
• Prepare surfaces for installation and ensure suitability.
• Fit blinds, drapery, shutters and similar coverings.
• Replace components of window coverings.

# Furniture Service TechnicianSioux Falls, SD 57104## Description**Position:** Furniture Service Technician **Hours:** Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm **Pay:** Hourly**Peek behind the scenes - a day in the life of a Furniture Service Technician** The Furniture Service Technician must be extremely flexible and enjoy an environment that changes day to day. This individual will work with their hands, operate various hand tools, and stand on their feet for extended periods of time in the day. They must also be personable, open to learning, and have a positive attitude will be at the top of our list. Here's what a day could look like:1. Assess damages and choose the appropriate method of repair for case goods, leather, fabric, and upholstery.2. Conduct woodworking, upholstery and leather repair, faux finishing, paint color matching, custom framing, coatings and finishes on various surfaces, furniture construction methods.3. Use techniques such as use of fillers, burn-ins, color matching, structural repairs, and installation of replacement parts.4. Travel over the road most of the day for after purchase repair in the homes of customers/clients.5. Install, program and troubleshoot window treatment installations and repairs.6. Remove existing window coverings before conducting new installations7. Treat surrounding surfaces to ensure their appropriateness for installation8. Fit blinds, drapery, shutters, and similar coverings.9.
