Job summary

Havertys Furniture Delivery Driver Assistant is hired to join a team that delivers and sets up merchandise in customers’ homes, ensuring safe handling and on-time service. The role emphasizes superior customer service, integrity, quality, and teamwork within a fast-paced delivery environment.

Shifts start at 7:30 am and continue until completion, with 4 or 5 days per week schedules (no Sundays). Pay starts at $18.50–$20.50 per hour, with daily pay options and comprehensive benefits including

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• No delivery experience required but preferred; training provided.
• Must have a current Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
• Must be willing and able to push, pull, and repeatedly team lift 150 pounds.
• Must be able to achieve DOT Certification (company paid).
• Must be able to pass background requirements and drug screen including THC testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate the delivery vehicle, when needed, in a safe and courteous manner.
• Delivery and set up furniture to customers’ homes.
• Maintain high performance levels by keeping within the customer delivery time window.
• Accurately communicate and document the delivery transaction using either a mobile device or the paperwork provided.
• Unload or load product as needed at customers’ homes, stores, or warehouse.
• Assist in the warehouse or showroom if needed.
