Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Pueblo, CO, has an immediate opening for a Furnace Deck Operator I. This entry-level role focuses on furnace preparation, load building, furnace reading, rounds, and process flow, with ongoing training toward Operator II.

The position offers 4-on/4-off shifts (12 hours) on a rotating schedule, with overtime, shift differential, and benefits including paid vacation, 401(k) matching, and Employee Scholar Program access.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
• Experience using hand tools

Responsibilities

• Provide process integrity and maintain process quality for all furnace process operations.
• Perform all engineering instruction for all department processes including carbonization, densification and heat-treating processes.
• Following established environmental, health and safety standards and procedures while performing daily duties. Is constantly aware of, and looks for, ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.
• Demonstration of understanding and implementation of BBS (Behavior Based Safety).
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools such as KAS, 5S, TPM and other continuous process improvement tools.
• Monitor metrics in the work area. Take appropriate and timely action when metrics indicate downward trends or fall below acceptable limits.
