Responsibilities and Experience

Furnace operators need to know what programs or process to implement. They must understand how to process a given material and implement the appropriate process on that given material. They are required to interpret specifications and materials from their customers Prints/Purchase Orders and translate that into the appropriate process to be used to achieve customers’ requirements.

• P.O. number: 123
• Item 1: Material: M2 Heat treat to HRC 62-64
• Item 2: Material: 8620 Case harden .020”-.030” deep to HRC 58-60
• Item 3: Material: 4140 Heat treat to 160-180 KSI per AMS 2759/1
• Item 4: Material: 17-7 Heat treat to Condition TH1050
