Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Dillon, SC is seeking a Level One Heat Treat Operator to support furnace loading, basic print reading, and material traceability under direct supervision.

You will follow safety guidelines, inspect processes, prepare thermocouples, adjust furnace patterns, and document activities. This entry-level role requires a high school diploma or GED and a willingness to learn. Training provided in a major manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals.
• The ability to use basic inspection tools such micrometers.
• The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills.
• The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions.
• Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others.
• Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions.
• Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
• Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
• Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Correctly access and interpret documentation (QMS, etc.).
• Perform basic racking and loading of product (Furnaces).
• Meet area/product specific production standards.
• Complete process and operation documentation (Traceability, etc.).
• Adjust furnace controller patterns (Ignition).
• Prepare Thermocouples.
• Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts through verbal or documented communication for required actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor or manager.
