Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group is seeking a part-time Funeral Assistant/Attendant to support funeral directors and families during services, memorials, and visits. You will help with removals, preparation, and transport, while also performing clerical tasks and greeting families with compassion.

The role requires a high school diploma, computer literacy, and the ability to lift heavy items. You may work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed, in a respectful, professional environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to use a computer and type.
• Proficient in MS Office and willing to learn other software.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Able to pass a Background Check.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push/pull 200 lbs or more.
• Able to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dignified transport and care of the deceased, including removals.
• Assist with preparing, dressing, and placing decedents into casket.
• Setup for services with flowers, chairs, urns, and keepsakes.
• Answer phones and perform general office duties.
• Greet and assist families, provide information and support.
• Work beyond standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
