Heritage Family Funeral Services, Inc is seeking a Funeral Assistant to support operations alongside the Funeral Director. You will help prepare service areas, assist grieving families, and coordinate transportation and logistics with care.

The role requires a high school diploma, flexibility including evenings and weekends, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. You will work in funeral homes and service locations, upholding dignity and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven ability to provide compassionate, respectful service to families.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Background check and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; insurability under vehicle-use policies.
• Consistent professional appearance, demeanor, and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare chapels and viewing areas, arrange flowers, lighting, and seating.
• Assist with dignified placement and movement of caskets and the deceased.
• Distribute guest books, memorial cards, prayer cards, and materials.
• Greet and guide guests during visitations and services.
• Transport deceased individuals to the funeral home or designated facility; drive hearses and family limousines.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of public spaces, chapels, and vehicles.
• Assist with scheduling and light paperwork; deliver documents or supplies as needed.
