Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical diploma in Funeral Services or Mortuary Science preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science or other degree as required by state boards.
• Funeral Director license as required by state/province law and as prescribed by each state board.
• At least five (5) years’ industry experience with increasing responsibilities; at least two (2) years guiding staff.
• Budgeting and expense control experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends; strong financial and people leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual business plan and budget with Market Leadership; set financial, production and revenue goals.
• Prepare annual operational and personnel budgets and monitor trends.
• Collaborate with Finance Field Manager to drive financial goals.
• Approve expenditures and invoices; manage overtime.
• Manage day-to-day operations, schedules and service quality; handle escalated issues.
• Collaborate with local Management on resource sharing and improvements.
• Represent location in community activities and partnerships.
• Ensure facilities and grounds are maintained and compliant.
• Plan and implement annual initiatives across locations.
