Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking an experienced professional to manage and coordinate the accounting and operational activities of a funeral home and related services in Portland. The role ensures accurate financial controls, timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, and adherence to SOX and company policies while supporting location management.

You will oversee collections, bank reconciliations, payroll support, and HR processes, while maintaining compassionate service

Qualifications

• Two years bookkeeping, general office, or AP experience.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Oversees accounting function: AR, AP, cash handling, and reconciliations.
• Maintains petty cash, bank deposits, and cash disbursement audits.
• Coordinates office purchases, inventory, and procurement processes.
• Supports HR processes: new hires, payroll policies, and confidential files.
• Produces monthly reports and KPI stack rankings; ensures SOX compliance.
• Assists with funeral/cemetery forms and maintains obituary updates.
