The Carlyle Group is seeking a Manager, Fund Accounting Systems to lead finance technology initiatives within the Fund Accounting ops. You will drive automation, define business requirements, and oversee Investran and Appian BPM projects, working with multiple finance teams and IT partners.

Based in Washington, DC, this role requires 5-7 years of fund accounting experience, strong Excel/SQL skills, and proven change-management capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in fund accounting or finance operations
  • Experience writing business requirements or process documentation for technology teams
  • Experience liaising between finance teams and IT/development teams
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Strong Excel and SQL skills
  • Understanding of fund accounting and investor reporting principles
  • Experience with change management, training, and stakeholder communication
  • Background in private equity or alternative investments preferred
  • Knowledge of Investran, Appian BPM, Salesforce or PeopleSoft Financials a plus
  • Ability to translate complex processes into actionable requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for Fund and Investor Reporting processes and systems
  • Act as liaison between Fund Accounting users and Global Technology Services (GTS)
  • Manage, enhance, and support Investran and Appian BPM applications
  • Provide functional support for in-house applications and ensure issue resolution
  • Lead finance process improvement and automation initiatives (~40%)
  • Partner with upstream/downstream stakeholders to drive improvements
  • Drive change management and adoption of new tools/workflows
  • Provide production support for key Fund Accounting reporting processes
