Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fund services industry.
  • Alternative investment experience required (hedge funds or private equity).
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore and domestic fund accounting and administration.
  • Experience with month-end valuations, reconciliations, financial reporting and GAAP audits.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple client deliverables and deadlines.
  • Experience with AML policies and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with investment managers, transfer agents, and service teams to resolve issues.
  • Respond to client inquiries on fund transactions, reporting and statements.
  • Authorize wire payments from fund escrow accounts with controls.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and coach team members.
  • Assist in staffing, interviews and team development.
  • Support new business development via prospect calls and client visits.
  • Facilitate onboarding and conversion of new clients and communicate deliverables.

Job Description

Our client, a leading global investment processing and investment management services company, is looking to hire a Fund Accounting Manager - Alternative Investments in Oaks, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary client contact and subject matter expert for offshore and domestic alternative fund accounting and administration.
  • Manage the delegation of funds to the team and coordinate the onboarding and setup of new funds.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting packages and deliverables.
  • Oversee month-end valuation reporting, reconciliations and review/approval of valuations prior to distribution to clients.
  • Coordinate and support year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Anti-Money Laundering policies and internal procedures.
  • Work closely with investment managers, transfer agents, sales and service teams, technology support and vendors to resolve accounting, transaction and system-related issues.
  • Respond to day-to-day client inquiries regarding fund transactions, administration, reporting and financial statements while maintaining a high level of client service.
  • Authorize wire payments from fund escrow accounts and ensure appropriate controls are followed.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, hold regular one-on-ones and provide career development, training and coaching to team members.
  • Assess staffing needs, participate in interviews and support hiring and team development initiatives.
  • Support new business development through prospect calls, client visits and presentations.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and conversion of new clients by gathering requirements, coordinating custom requests and communicating key deliverables to the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fund services industry.
  • Alternative investment experience required, including hedge funds and/or private equity.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore and domestic fund accounting and administration.
  • Experience with month-end valuations, reconciliations, financial reporting and GAAP audit processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple client deliverables and deadlines.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing client needs.
  • Experience with Anti-Money Laundering policies, due diligence and regulatory compliance is preferred.
