Job summary

EDAG Engineering GmbH in Michigan is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to support HARAs, ASIL classification, and safety goals for automotive projects. You will translate high-level safety requirements into detailed HW and SW specs and assist with diagnostic requirements.

Responsibilities include conducting FTAs and FMEA, coordinating root-cause analyses with teams and suppliers, and documenting safety status for homologation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with automotive EE architectures (Domain/Distributed).
• Subject matter expert in Systems Engineering and multi-domain design.

Responsibilities

• Perform HARAs, classify risks with ASIL, and define safety goals.
• Translate safety requirements to HW/SW requirements and diagnostics.
• Conduct FTAs and FMEA and document safety status reports.
• Coordinate root-cause analysis with engineering and suppliers.
• Participate in safety assessments, audits, and safety case creation.
