Job summary

HRU-Tech in Michigan seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to lead safety for electrified mobility, ADAS, and connected mobility programs. You will apply ISO 26262 and related standards while collaborating with customers on multiple development projects.

You will develop safety plans, conduct hazard analyses, perform safety analyses (FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA), derive safety requirements, and review Safety concepts across system, hardware, and software to ensure successful verification and validation.

Qualifications

Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 21448, or IEC 61508, or similar safety standards.
Experience in functional safety development for complex vehicle electrical systems.
Experience with risk analysis, safety concepts, and safety analyses (FMEA, FTA).
Experience supporting FS activities throughout product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a safety plan to meet customer program timing.
Create/review Item Definition and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments.
Perform/review safety analyses (e.g., FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA).
Derive safety requirements and create functional and technical safety concepts.
Support the implementation of safety requirements at hardware and software levels.
Perform FS architecture and design reviews at system, hardware, and software level.
Define tests for verification and validation of safety requirements.
Support safety reviews, process audits and product FS assessments.
