Job summary

Programmerrs.io is seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst to work with business, product, and technology teams to analyze requirements, improve processes, and translate needs into clear technical specs.

Responsibilities include gathering requirements, creating BRD/FRD and user stories, performing gap analyses, and guiding QA and development through the SDLC. Strong SQL/Excel skills and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Conduct requirement-gathering sessions, workshops, interviews, and stakeholder meetings.
• Create BRD, FRD, functional specs, process flows, use cases, and user stories.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specs for development and QA teams.
• Perform current-state / future-state analysis, gap analysis, and process mapping.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, QA, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Define acceptance criteria and support backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, and production releases.
• Analyze data using SQL and Excel to validate requirements and investigate issues.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are understood, traceable, and delivered.
• Identify process improvements and recommend functional solutions.
• Maintain documentation and share status updates with stakeholders.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst to work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technology teams to analyze business requirements, improve processes, and translate functional needs into clear technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Conduct requirement‑gathering sessions, workshops, interviews, and stakeholder meetings.
• Create BRD, FRD, functional specifications, process flows, use cases, and user stories.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements for development and QA teams.
• Perform current‑state / future‑state analysis, gap analysis, and business process mapping.
• Work closely with Product Owners, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Define acceptance criteria and support Agile backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and production implementation.
• Analyze data using SQL and Excel to support requirements validation and issue investigation.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and ensure requirements are understood, traceable, and delivered correctly.
• Identify process improvements and recommend functional solutions based on business needs.
• Maintain documentation and provide status updates to stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst / Functional Business Analyst.
• Excellent requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong experience with BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of SQL and strong Excel skills.
• Experience supporting UAT, SIT, defect management, and production releases.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a large enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of BPMN, Visio, Lucid chart, or similar process‑mapping tools.
• Experience working with APIs, system integrations, and data mapping is advantageous
